For the Safety of our Customers and Technicians
In order to ensure the safety of both our customers and technicians ITS Hawaii has adopted the following safety measures. Any technician dispatching on an ITS Hawaii work order, for any customer, MUST follow the procedures listed below for the protection of their health and the health of the workers and customers within the businesses we serve.
Technicians working in the field must:
- Carry hand sanitizer containing >60% alcohol and use it in-between site visits, prior to and after lunch, and after using the restroom.
- If this is not feasible, frequent hand washing following CDC recommendations on hand washing is acceptable.
- Technicians should ensure they use hand sanitizer and/or wash their hands upon arrival to the site.
- It is preferred that technicians utilize disposable gloves when working.
If this is not feasible:
- Clean
and disinfect all installed equipment and surfaces touched at the customer’s
facility with a CDC COVID-19 approved disinfecting method.
- This includes, but is not limited to tables, doorknobs, light switches, countertops, handles, desks, phones, keyboards, toilets, faucets, and sinks.
- Clean and disinfect all tools and equipment at the beginning and end of each shift following the disinfecting methods below. Make sure to follow specific product labels for instructions.
Disinfecting Methods (choose one):
- Bleach Solutions.
- To make a bleach solution, mix: 5 tablespoons (1/3rd cup) bleach per gallon of water
OR
- 4
teaspoons bleach per quart of water.
- Follow manufacturer’s instructions for application and proper ventilation. Check to ensure the product is not past its expiration date.
- Never mix household bleach with ammonia or any other cleanser.
- Alcohol solutions.
- Ensure solution has at least 70% alcohol. Ex. Hand Sanitizer.
- Other common EPA-registered household disinfectants. Products with EPA-approved emerging viral pathogens claims are expected to be effective against COVID-19 based on data for harder to kill viruses. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for all cleaning and disinfection products (e.g., concentration, application method and contact time, etc.).
Other General Good Hygiene practices we request that you follow:
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
- Stay home when you are sick or are showing any cold or flu-like symptoms.
- Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash, then wash your hands.
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.
- Wash
your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after
going to the bathroom, before eating and after blowing your nose, coughing, or
sneezing.
- If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
- Always wash hands with soap and water if hands are visibly dirty.
If our technician assigned to any work order meets any of the below criteria, they will be removed from the field.
If our technician feels that anyone at a jobsite meets these criteria they will leave the worksite and contact the operations manager.
- Fever, cough, shortness of breath, cold or flu-like symptoms
- Traveled internationally to affected areas in China, Iran, South Korea, Italy, or any locations as defined by the CDC.
